Delivering quality, comprehensive sex education and fostering meaningful partnerships with parents and caregivers supports overall youth health, safety, and development. To aid state leaders in supporting their local education agencies in engaging parents and caregivers around sex education, this product describes barriers that may hinder engagement and shares strategies to help address them.
This resource was prepared for the Leadership Exchange for Adolescent Health Promotion (LEAHP) project, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Division of Adolescent and School Health (CDC-DASH) to provide training and support to multi-sector state teams working on adolescent health in schools.
