Senior Research Analyst
Zipi Diamond works in the early childhood education program area at Child Trends. She has expertise in qualitative research and project management and supports both federal and state research and evaluation projects on early care and education (ECE). Zipi is especially interested in promoting equitable access to high-quality ECE. With this goal in mind, she has worked on teams to support three states (MN, RI, GA) in revising or evaluating their Quality Rating and Improvement Systems to better support young children, families, and early educators. Zipi is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Human Ecology at UW-Madison, specializing in Early Childhood Research and Policy.
Prior to joining Child Trends, Zipi worked for The Lewin Group, a health and human services consulting firm. At Lewin, she supported the Office of Head Start’s Monitoring System through qualitative data analysis, technical assistance, and project management.
Zipi graduated from St. Olaf College with a BA in Sociology and Gender and Sexuality Studies. During college, Zipi was an assistant preschool teacher and interned for The Human Rights Campaign on an initiative to improve LGBTQ+ competency and inclusivity among adoption and foster care agencies.
Zipi’s areas of interest include ECE quality improvement, equitable access to ECE, home-based child care programs, infant/toddler care, Head Start, and family engagement in ECE.
