Sarah Crowne, PhD, is a senior research scientist and program area director in the child and family well-being supports research area at Child Trends. Dr. Crowne has more than 20 years of experience in home visiting and maternal and child health research, including more than 10 years of work funded through HRSA’s Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program. She currently leads the Home Visiting Assessments of Implementation Quality (HV-AIM) and Implement MIECHV Program Legislative Changes projects to conduct research in support of HRSA’s efforts to strengthen evidence-based home visiting. She recently completed work on the MIECHV COVID Health Equity project to investigate the role of MIECHV-funded local program implementation as part of the COVID-19 response. In other recent work, she has partnered with national home visiting models, local public health departments, and state agencies. Dr. Crowne’s additional research interests include early childhood services and family violence prevention.

Previously, Dr. Crowne was an assistant scientist in the Department of Population, Family, and Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. At Johns Hopkins, she worked on the Home Visiting Applied Research Collaborative (HARC), the Mother and Infant Home Visiting Program Evaluation (MIHOPE) and MIHOPE-Strong Start studies, and New Jersey’s statewide home visiting evaluation.
