Fadumo Abdi works in the youth development program area as a research scientist. She graduated from the University of North Carolina with an MPH in maternal and child health where her master’s thesis explored the socio-emotional development of children whose mothers were diagnosed with perinatal depression. She has an interest in adolescent health and has previously conducted qualitative research with at-risk youth where she wrote surveys and conducted qualitative analysis. Her primary interests are the barriers to access created by stigma in disadvantaged populations, specific youth and women, and determining how best to create positive supports to improve health outcomes.
