It’s critical for policymakers, advocates, and other stakeholders to be able to access data on the early childhood workforce so they can understand the demographics, compensation, and education levels of those caring for children in each of the 50 states, along with the professional development opportunities they are afforded. However, data on the workforce are limited and often siloed in different state and local databases, making information difficult to access for planning and policy development. This blog highlights gaps in early childhood workforce data and actions that state and federal leaders can take to improve data collection and access.
